An update! Believe it or not!

I am a very bad blogger! I freely admit it, and I'm sorry! I can't believe it's been 7 months since I last posted an update! Well I can. Sadly, blogging has never been my strong point so when life gets hectic or things go wrong, this seems to be the first thing that gives. I have some new products in my store! 8 new Commercial Use overlay sets. If you're not bothered about reading my personal update, you can just pop over there  to take a look. I will post individual pics below though. Hurry up though, they're 25% off until the end of the month!

For the last few months I've had my Mum poorly, she had a steel plate in her leg and over time 2 of the screw ahad worked loose and actually poked through her skin. For months she was seeing the doctor and nurse and having her leg dressed for an ulcer and we begged them to refer her to the hospital for further investigation. We didn't think it was an ulcer and when we looked into the hole we could see the metal top of the screw. Finally they did, and the surgeon confirmed it was the screw that had come loose. So she would need to have an operation to have them out. That was booked for January. All went well on the day and Mum came home the same night but she was in an awful lot of pain and then her leg got infected. She spent a couple of weeks in hospital on intravenous antibiotics but we were so worried we could see her going downhill by the day. So we pleaded with them to let her come home under the care of the district nurse. That was the best move, it was hard, keeping tabs on her medication, making sure she rested enough with her leg up. But we could see her pick up almost straight away. My Mum is 81 this year bless her. A hospital ward isn't always the best place for an elderly lady. Sometimes they need their own home and loved ones around them and their home comforts. It's now mid May and Mum is getting better all the time. Her leg has almost healed and we are hoping that the next hospital visit will be the last. I've taken over control of her meds which can be a little time consuming but definitely worth it to have her at home.

My own health hasn't been great but finally I feel like I am getting on top of things. I'm starting to lose some weight, doing daily  exercises. Cutting back on some of the meds that I think were doing me more harm than good. And more than all of that, I finally feel, after 7 long years, that I have something to live for! Yes I know that sounds awful. But after my illness 7 years ago and then my much loved brother dying. I really felt like my life was over. My mobility was non-existent and every time something happened, sciatica, osteoarhritis, it got even worse. I ate to speed things up. Make the end come sooner. How sad is that? But one moring in January I just woke up with a completely different mind set. I felt alive again, happy and ready to fight! Some of this is down to a very special friend who I have known for well, most of my life but who I lost contact with many years ago. I've always had the love and support of my Sisters, I know that and I'm grateful for that. But sometimes it takes someone else to make you see the light! My friend found me after so many years and has encouraged and helped me to be the person I should be, not the sad person just waiting to die! I have a long way to go, and many obstacles to get over, but I know I can do it now! I'm determined and I have everything to live for.

So if you got this far, and you're still awake, here are my new goodies:

Finally! Something New!

Well it feels a bit like it's getting somewhat tiresome, me apologising every time I write a post - because I haven't written a post for ages. So I'm not going to apologise. I'm not the best blogger in the world anyway, but add to that all the various health issues I have and it doesn't add up to great continuity.

There's not much I can do about it so I guess I just have to keep smiling and get on with it! I just want to thank all of you who faithfully visit here every so often, maybe hoping for a new post or news of a new product. I'm lucky really, I have lots of wonderful supportive friends in the scrapbook industry. Julie, the store owner at ESS is amazing. She's a very patient and 'with it' lady and a good friend. She never nags me or gives me a hard time, just expresses delight when I manage to produce something new! The most frustrating thing for me is that the will is there, but the physical capability isn't.

Add to all that the issues that almost everyone faces, like running a home, looking after family, and I just never seem to have the time to design as much as I'd like, and when I do design, that's my creative outlet, so marketing and blog posting etc come way down the list :( I'll share more 'life' stuff below but first I'll show you my new goodies, all available at eScape & Scrap and on sale at 25% off until 10th November!

It's been 2 years since Pete & I moved into this bungalow and we still aren't straight. Pete works 12 hours shifts, that plus travel time doesn't leave time for much else. And although I try to do what I can, there's a lot I can't do without a strong pair of hands. I made a massive effort when we first moved in, and got rid of a lot of unnecessary stuff. But then I just ran out of steam. This year we have tried to get the garden sorted a little bit. One wonders why when it hasn't been nice enough to sit in it all summer! It was sort of accidental but we seem to have veered towards pots rather than actual planting. I suppose that's OK as we can move them around then. I actually bought a raspberry bush and a pomegranate bush. Haha, I don't like either but my Mum loves pomegranates so I thought it'd be nice to be able to take her some. I also bought 2 Bay trees and some tulips, hydrangea, crocus, allium and primroses. And I have started growing seeds too, so far I have planted cornflowers from seeds, and apple trees from the seeds out of my apples! I know these won;t bear fruit unless we can pollinate them but they still make a nice small tree if grown in a pot. My cornflowers were doing so well and then I potted the seedlings and they went outside where I can see them from the kitchen window. And they died :( or at least they seemed to. For a couple of weeks I kept glancing out to see the flattened seedlings and felt very sad, but then one day we had a bit of rare sunshine and suddenly, they were standing up again. They haven't flowered yet but at least they haven't died and they are looking quite healthy so I'm hopeful!

As for the house, well we just had the last room, the kitchen decorated. Now it's just a matter of getting it all straight. Once again bad health this week has hindered me but we are making slow progress. Once the kitchen is straight, I have to blitz my bedroom but that's mainly my craft stuff and clothes! My wardrobe fell to bit when we moved so everything has been stacked up in bags ever since. I finally got a new wardrobe and it's now up and the bedroom rearranged so now it just all needs unpacking and putting away. Then the final tweaks need putting to the living room and finally the hall (storage) cupboard. I did this when we first moved in but as each room has been done I have found more things that need storing and I'm now thinking that all the stuff in the cupboard hasn't been touched since it went in there, so do I need it? Probably not! I swear I am never moving again, ever!
Well if you made it this far, well done and thank you
Until next time, hugs x

Huge Update - Bad Me!

Honestly I do not know where the time goes. It's April already, how did that happen? Having said that I am so glad it's Spring now. Whilst we aren't yet enjoying bright warm sunny days, it's definitely improving . This is my favourite time of the year, good things to come, new flowers and blossom, fresh greenery, light breezes. And the promise of even better weather to come. I swear I feel the cold more with each winter.

I have been designing, it's been a slow process for me, I have trouble sleeping and I'm extremely lucky if I get 2 or 3 hours at a time. I simply can't function if I don't have enough sleep so it means I sleep for a couple of hours, then I'm awake for 3 or 4 hours and then I find I have to nap or I just can't think straight. So it doesn't leave a whole lot of time to do anything else. :(

Anyway, on to the goodies, I created a gorgeous kit in purples and lilacs, and I was stuck for a name. Since the amethyst is February's birthstone, I settled on February for the name! The kit was free to ESS customers in February but if you missed out, it's now available in my store at 25% off! I have 5 add-ons packs that co-ordinate with the kit too. They are available separately or as a bundle at a reduced price, you can also get the whole shebang; kit and 5 add-ons as a bundle too. I added a bundle of my art journaling papers, you can get the 4 seasons pack toether for a lower price. Be sure to check it out. Lastly, I am retiring some products at the end of the month. Something new, specials and freebies!

Well I finally have some new products in my store! Don't faint! I've had a wonderful summer. My sister and her partner came over from Australia with their two boys, my gorgeous nephews. They were here for 8 weeks. While they were here we celebrated their marriage with a party on a boat and a blessing.
It was fantastic to see them all again. My nephews are such gorgeous, clever boys. The had a sleepover with me 2 nights and we baked cookies and did art stuff. I don't get the chance to do things like that with them so it was really nice. We had lots of days out too, Yorkshire Wildlife Park, The Forbidden Corner, Treasure Island Play Centre. And many many trips to the supermarket!

They left for home at the end of August and a week later, Pete & I took my Mum & Dad to Wales for a week. We were truly blessed with fine weather and we had a lovely quiet, relaxing week. Lol, I say quiet but really, on the 2nd day we discovered the secluded cottage we had chosen was slap bang in the middle of The Mach Loop! We were sat outside enjoying the sun and scenery when suddenly a jet fighter plane flew straight over us. The sound was deafening and it was so low it was scary! I looked it up to find that it's a low level flight training path for jet fighter pilots!!! There were sometimes as many as 10 a day. Once we knew what it was it was kind of cool, and we ended up jet-spotting the rest of the week. The only thing that marred the week was I had a couple of accidents and ended up doing some damage to my left knee which just got worse as the week went on. It was so painful that I went to A & E once we got home and had x-rays and was dismayed to be told that I had no cartilage left in my left knee. Not good! And despite all the rest and painkillers it remains extremely painful I've got an appt booked at the docs but not till week after next. It was impossible to get in any earlier.Oh and when we got home I found my new laptop had died! Fabulous eh? It's been fixed now, had to send it back to Sony, but then you have all the stuff to load back on and get it running how you want it, such fun, not!

Anyway, despite all the dramas I managed to get some new products finished. Shop now to save 25% off, offer available until Monday.
